A Celebration Of Jacques Brel
Friday 16th November 2012 - Starts 8pm

So who says Belgium is boring and there are no famous Belgians?
Singer-songwriter Jacques Brel was the most famous, most brilliant, and most badly translated Belgian in the whole of history! Tonight four long standing devotees will celebrate his life and work. Three will be performing some of Brel’s best known songs: the fourth is a brilliant and Brel-obsessed original songwriter who has more or less turned into him (he even has a song called ‘Geoff’…).
Internationally renowned cabaret singer Barb Jungr accompanied by pianist Jenny Carr, local folk hero Robb Johnson and Attila The Stockbroker with pianist wife Robina Baine will be playing Brel’s songs: Philip Jeays will be performing his own translations of Brel songs.
